Body of Missing Child Found Near Dam

A seven year old boy who went missing in the Ohio River on Sunday around 4:30 p.m. was discovered in the water near the wall of the Hannibal Locks and Dam around 4 a.m. on Wednesday by family members. According to Monroe County, Ohio sheriff Charles Black, officials had suspended the search for the boy around 1 a.m. with the intention of continuing the search later in the morning. However, he said family members requested to keep searching. The family had a boat and were searching near the wall of the dam when they discovered the boy’s body. “My deputies were just pulling in to check equipment we had left there, and they were advised they found what they thought was the body, and it was the body of the 7-year-old,” said Sheriff Black.
