Rotary
The New Martinsville Rotary met on Wednesday March 4, at Quinet’s Court Restaurant for their weekly meeting. Local President Chuck Clegg brought the meeting to order and introduced the March, Magnolia high school students of the month Bindy Campbell and Leah Hartline.
Bindy is the daughter of Diana Smith of Proctor, WV. She is (PIE) Partner in Education Representative for her senior class. Bindy is a member of TSA, National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Student Council and FFA.
Her athletic achievements include first team all OVAC Track and Field (2023), 4×200 meter relay champion; 3 A OVAC (GIRLS); State runner-up in 4×2 relay, also 2023, cross country 2023, track all four years, cheerleading 2022-2023.
She volunteers at the Wetzel County Animal Shelter, Volunteers at Mountain Valley Veterinary clinic, and Salvation Army ringing of bells.
She plans to attend WVU, Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, or Ohio State. He anticipated major is Animal Science
Leah is the daughter of Trisha and Shaun Hartline of New Martinsville. She carries a 4.0 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, Technology Student Association, Relay for Life, Science National Honor Society, Class partner in Education (PIE) Representative, Student Council and FFA.
Her athletic accomplishments include cheerleading team captain, track (hurdles) captain, Cheernastics All-Stars, Lady Legends.
Community activities include, 1st youth on lead team at the United Methodist Church, and Animal Shelter Volunteer.
She enjoys reading and spending time with her cats and family. She plans to attend EVU or Fairmont State University, and major in Forensic Examiner.
Following the introduction of students, President Clegg gave a slide presentation on the old Ormet and Conalco plants in Hannibal.
The Rotary meets each week at noon at the Blue/Gold room in Quinet’s Restaurant.
