Tyler Downs Magnolia Blue Eagles on Senior Night

The Silver Knights picked up their second win over the Blue Eagles on Friday evening May 1, at Silver Knight Stadium with a 5-1 victory to celebrate senior night.

Leading the way was senior Brayden Neff who slammed a home run and added another hit, while scoring a run and knocking in three. Aston Morris also had a pair of hits including a line drive double, and scored a run. Landon Boggs got a hit and drove in a run, while Peyton Baker added a hit and an RBI. Reese Davis added a hit as well.

Brennan Miller picked up the win going 5.1 innings and giving up three hits, one run, walking two and striking out seven. Davis got credit for the save, throwing the last 1.2 innings allowing one hit, one walk and striking out three batters.

Magnolia got on the board in the top of the first inning when freshman Ian Hedrick singled and came home on a hit by Kyrian Starkey. Hedrick got the only other hit for the Blue Eagles. The Silver Knights scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth and added two more in the sixth to close out the scoring.

Hedrick took the loss for Magnolia going 3.1 innings giving up three runs (two earned), five hits, one walk, and two strikeouts. Brayden Byers came on i n relief and threw the final 2.2 innings allowing two runs, four hits, two walks, and striking out three batters.

Magnolia stands at 10-10 on the season, while the Silver Knights move to 11-14.
