Magnolia senior guard Trevor Williamson had the hot hand on Thursday night, January 27, pouring in a game high 27 points against Monroe County as the visiting Blue Eagles looked to avenge an early season loss to the Seminoles.

However the home team used a balanced attack to offset Williamson’s hot shooting and picked up their second win of the seaon over the Blue Eagles defeating the visitors 61-41. Leading the charge for the Seminoles was senior standout Malichi Rose-Burton with 24 points and nine rebounds to go with six steals. He was backed in the effort by Tucker Howell with 16 and Collin Kroll with 10 including two 3-pointers.

Williamson was a one man show for the Blue Eales as he hit five from beyond the 3-point line on his way to 27 of the Magnolia’s 41 points. While the Blue only had one player reach double figures Kayden Johnson added five points including a three, and Haden Pyles pitched in four points including a three. Kocher hit a three and freshman Jordan Gilbert rounded out the scoring for Magnolia with a basket.

The Blue Eagles connected on 16 shots from the floor with half of them coming for 3-point land. They went 1-8 from the free throw line. Monroe Central canned 25 field goals and hit 8-12 from the charity stripe.
