Doddridge County wins over Wildcats

Paden City hosted the Doddridge County Bulldogs on Friday night, May 21, in Paden City and put up a good battle, but fell a little short 9-6 in a seven inning outing that saw the Cats only getting one hit on the night.

Fletcher took the loss on the mound for the Wildcats pitching three innings and giving up five runs while striking out two and walking three batters. Hizer came on in relief in the fourth and had two K’s while giving up two walks. Aston Little came in for the Wildcats in the fifth and struck out eight batters over the next three innings while walking only two.

The Bulldogs had seven hits in the game including four doubles all which drove in runs. They also got two runs on a single and another on a free pass. Little was the only Wildcat to get the bat on the ball with a single, but the Cats got a RBI from Baker, Southerly, and Bordenkircher.

Silver Knights gain win over Wildcats

Hayden Brown picked up the win on the mound for Tyler allowing one hit in the contest as the Knights gained a 9-3 win over Paden City on Monday May 17, at home.

Visiting Paden City’s lone hit in the contest came off the bat of Will McGinnis who singled. Brown struck out 14 Wildcat batters and walked two in six and two thirds innings. The Cats scored two earned runs in the top of the seventh off of Brown and Mason Nichols came in to close out the game with two out in the seventh. He gave up a run on an error and walked two, before retiring the side.

The Silver Knights collected six hits in the game with Ty Walton leading the way with two.

Zane Billings, Owen Westbrook, Gage Ammons, and Wes Henderson all had a hit. The Knights scored three runs in the first, five in the third and one in the sixth

Branden Hizer took the loss for Paden City pitching five innings and giving up eight runs on five hits, eight errors, and six walks. Fletcher threw the final inning
