Hundred Boys fall to Conotton Valley in OVAC semi-final
Hundred traveled to Conotton Valley on Thursday, May 6, for a scheduled Ohio Valley Athletic Conference baseball semi-final game between the number one seed and number four seed teams.
Hundred went to bat first, but the visitor’s couldn’t get any production and only managed one hit over the five inning mercy rule game.
Conotton Valley however clubbed out 11 hits and scored 11 runs with six coming in the bottom of the first.
Winning pitcher for the contest was Putman who recorded nine strikeouts and no walks. He also hit one batter. Hundred’s Chritian Fluharty took the loss giving up 11 hits and 11 runs, plus walking four batters while striking out five.
Fluharty also singled for the Hornets only hit of the game.
Leading the way for the home team was Walker with three singles and Myers, Novak, and Edie with two singles each.
The Hornets gave up six in the first inning on two walks and four singles, then settled down and played tough baseball the rest of the way, but it was to little too late.
