Spotlight on Destiny Eastham
Destiny Eastham, a sophomore at Hundred High School, is this week’s Sports Spotlight. Eastham participated in track, and is the focal point on the Hornets’ archery team. This year, she was one bad arrow from keeping her from placing in the top 10 female archers in the state archery tournament.
In Hundred’s two years of having a team, Destiny has made it to the show both times, and looks to continue to earn a state berth in her last two years.
She has a high school ranking of 19 out of 75, and third out of 19 for 10th graders, as well as an overall girl ranking of 34.
Archery Coach Ryan May stated that she is a great student with a 4.0 GPA. May is proud of all of Eastham’s accomplishments this year and looks for her to continue to improve over the next two seasons. “We improved by two students this season, and I hope we can continue to get more shooters out next season,” stated May. I’m proud of the dedication the entire team performed with this year. I couldn’t ask for a better group to work with.”
Coach May went on to say, “I’m passionate about the sport. I like to bow hunt.”
Eastham followed up and said about her coach. “Coach May is great; he is always there for me and the rest of the team, and a good ear to listen to what we have on our mind.”
