Magnolia Season Ends at Parkersburg Catholic 47-32

The Magnolia Blue Eagles traveled to Parkersburg on Wednesday evening February 11, 2026, to battle the Parkersburg Catholic Crusaders in the regional final for the right to go to the state tournament in Charleston.

The number 1 seeded Crusaders fell behind 6-0 to start the contest and by the end of the first quarter the Blue Eagles held a 12-9 lead. Catholic recovered in the second period and went up by three at the break 22-19. Magnolia struggled to score in the second half and ended up falling 47-32 to finish their season at 8-14.

The Eagles Brayden Byers would hit a three-pointer out of the halftime locker room to tie the score at 22-22, but Catholic countered and never trailed again as they outscored the visitors 25-12 in the second half.

Noah Hood led Magnolia with a pair of 3-pointers, and went 1-4 from the line for 13 points. The Blue Eagles senior All-Stater Kingston Christen was held to a season low of eight points with six coming by 3-pointers. He scored five points in the first quarter and was held scoreless in the middle two periods, before nailing a 3-pointer late in the fourth. Brayden Byers hit one three and finished with seven points, while Drake Christen and Scott Bailey added two points each to round out the Eagles scoring. Magnolia hit just 13 shots from the floor all night including five 3-pointers and made 1-4 from the foul line, all by Hood.

Catholic was led by Preston Randolph who netted a game high 17 points. Luke Anderson added 12 points, and Leonardo DeAngelo netted 8 points. The Crusaders hit 17 field goals, including four 3’s and made 9-14 from the free throw line.The home team moved to 21-3 on the season and takes on East Hardy in Charleston.
