Hundred hosted cross county rival Valley on Thursday night, January 27, in the Hornets nest and stung the Lumberjills to the tune of 62-36. The high flying Hornets started out strong and never let up as they swarmed over the visitors from start to finish to get the win.
Sophomore Roxie Huggins had a big night as she scored a game high 16 points while controlling the boards with 12 rebounds for a double-double. Her sophomore teammate Leah Dean came in just as big as she worked well around the basket getting 13 points, 10 rebounds and slapping away eight shots.
The Hornets threw a well balanced attack at the Lumberjills with four players hitting twin digits as senior Rachel Snedden connected for 10 points including two 3-pointers, while senior Addie Tuttle guard also hit for 10 points and contributed eight assists and eight steals in a near triple-triple feat.
After taking a double digit lead at the half the Hornets defense continued to cause turnovers in the third quarter keeping the Lumberjills at bay and increasing the lead on their way to the win. Also scoring for the Hornets was sophomore Ashlyn Peters with seven points including two 3-pointers, Summer Morris and DeLaney with four points each.
The Lumberjills were led by sophomore Evalena Booher with 12 points and Winter Higgins with nine points, and Kimberly Soles with with eigth points including two 3’s. Charity Bates added three points and Andrea Thomas got two, while Anna Bassett hit a free throw.
Hundred made 22 field goals and sank 14-30 from the free throw line, while Valley hit 14 from the floor and went just 6-19 from the charity stripe.
