Beallsville fourth quarter comeback downs Hundred
Visiting Hundred high school was looking for their first win on the season Tuesday night, December 14, in Beallsvile, but the homestanding Blue Devils rallied from behind in the fourth quarter to gaina 63-51 win.
The Hornets and Blue Devils played to a 14–14 first quarter draw before the Hornets jumped ahead in the second frame and went into the locker room up 30-25.
Hundreds Dylan Ray was on fire in the first half scoring 16 points to lead the way. He continued into the third frame knocking in seven more before he got into foul trouble and fouled out in the early part of the fourth.
Hundred also got double figure scoring from Colton Whitehill and Brayden Bartrug with 10 points each, however the Hornets were whistled for 30 fouls with three starters having to leave the game in the fourth.
Beallsville took advantage and won the fourth 19-6 to get the win.
The homestanding Blue Devils only had 14 fouls called on them and no one fouled out leaving the starters vs Hundreds reserves. Beallsville shot 50 free throws to the Hornets 12 which made the difference in the contest.
Ray was the top scorer in the game despite fouling out. Beallsville received 22 points from B. Louden with 16 coming in the second half.
Other scorers for the Hundred included Everrett Johnson with three, Jeffery Morris with two, David Morris with two, and Levi Eakin with a free throw for a point. Bartrug’s 10 points included two from 3-point land.
