Dorothy Mae McDougal

Dorothy Mae McDougal, age 92, of New Martinsville, WV, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025, at her home.

She was born December 5, 1932, in Bearsville, WV, a daughter of the late John William and Golda Myrtle Dawson Hamilton.

She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in New Martinsville. She loved to read, go fishing, work with flowers and go to flea markets.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas McCullough, daughter, Sharon Stone, brother, Walter Hamilton, two sisters, Virginia Hadley and Orpha Frazier and a grandson, Matthew Allan Fiore.

Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Bernard McDougal; three daughters, Nancy Lea (Marshall) Fiore of Sistersville, WV, Missy Stiles and Sandra Riggs, both of New Martinsville, WV; four sons, James Aurther (Joyce) McCullough of TN, Michael Andrew (Raychelle) McCullough of Hannibal, OH, Robert McCullough of New Martinsville, WV and Bernie (Denise) McDougal of Middlebourne, WV; brother, Cecil (Betty) Hamilton St. Mary’s, WV; 20 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory 751 Third St. New Martinsville, WV, where services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am with officiating.

Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery New Martinsville, WV.
