Lester V. Bickerstaff

Lester V. Bickerstaff, 84, of Pine Grove, WV took the next step on his journey on Monday, September 2, 2024 while at his home and surrounded by his family.

Lester was born January 2, 1940, in Fairmont, WV son of late Martin V. and Elizabeth D. (Valentine) Bickerstaff.

He was a retired Mill Right, with forty-two years of service, for the former Ormet Corp.; proud member of the Steelworkers Local 5724; loved hunting and fishing; member of the Pine Grove Sportsman Club; loved to travel to flea markets; loved watching Gun Smoke and Daniel Boone and a Baptist by faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Rosalie; brother Ronnie and niece, Rhonda.

Surviving is his wife of sixty-seven years and the love of his life, Lillie Bickerstaff; children, Walter V. (Judy) Bickerstaff and Debbie (John) Kocher by of Pine Grove, WV; five grandchildren, Betsy (Jonathan) Luciano, Walker (Breana) Kocher, Haden Kocher, Lesta (Nathan) Fletcher and Dustin (Samantha) Bickerstaff; three great grandchildren, Lincoln and Trevor Luciano and Bodie Bickerstaff and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 2 – 7 p.m., Thursday, September 5, 2024 at the Williams Funeral Home, 12750 Shortline Highway, Pine Grove WV where services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, September 6, 2024 with burial to follow in Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville, WV.
