Pepsi Truck takes out power in New Martinsville

Around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, May 5, a Pepsi truck hit a power pole in the Brooklyn section of New Martinsville, near Choo Choo’s restaurant, causing downed lines to cover the roadway. It was reported that a transformer also blew confounding the problem.

According to officials responding to the accident no injuries were reported.

Traffic was held up and re-routed while emergency personnel and electric company employees were working to eliminate any dangers and restore power.

Approximately 1,600 people including most businesses were left without power for over four hours with power restored at 12:35 p.m.
