Commission Approves AirEvac Agreement
The Wetzel County Comissioners at their January 26, 2021, regular scheduled opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and Commission President Lisa Heasley calling the meeting to order. The minutes rom the January 19, meeting were unanimously approved.
The Commission met briefly with and heard from Michael Walker representing AirEvac. Following the short presentation the commissioners unanimously approved the renewal of their agreement to pay the premiums for Wetzel County Citizens to be Life-Flighted by AirEvac.
Other items addressed at the meeting included the transfer of a deed from Prosecuting Attorney Tim Haught and the Wetzel County Building Commission to the Wetzel County Commission. Due to COVID-19 the transaction was postponed until the next meeting of the commission.
The commission unanimously approved the promotion of two part-time employees at the Wetzel County Animal Shelter to full-time due to the amount of hours they are working.
Commissioners also approved the transfer of a van previously used by the Animal Shelter and being used by the Wetzel County Animal Welfare League back to the Wetzel County Animal Shelter.
Wetzel County Commission Approves Hiring
The Commission approved the request of Sheriff Koontz to hire a new Deputy, Daniel Jackson on February 2, 2021. He will begin working on 3-1-21. There no other business conducted in the meeting.
