New Martinsville Police Report Shows Department Answered 1,762 Calls
Chief Tim Cecil released the City Police Department report for the month of December, 2025.
The department answered over 1,700 calls including 20 animal complaints, 67 vehicle license checks, three drivers license checks, nine alarm calls, three mental hygiene, three hangups, two assault (harassment/stalking, two assault physical, two Be on the look out for, 11 bond posted, two burn permits; one child custody dispute, 16 citations issued, five civil process/papers served, 65 complaints four criminal complaints, 24 crossing guards, four disabled vehicle assist, four domestic violence, three DUI processing, eight domestic violence protective orders, two escorts, three field contact, six fire calls, one gun shot fired, six hit and run, 76 information, four interviews, six medical assistance, on missing person adult, two missing persons juvenile, 10 mutual aid calls, one noise complaint, five property found, one property lost, one personal safety order, 10 reckless driver, four shoplifting, one intoxicated person, 21 vehicle accidents, four intoxicated drivers, 25 speak to an officer, three suicidal subject, seven suspicious activity person, three suspicious activity vehicle, one theft, 79 traffic stops, two transports, 30 utility calls, four vehicle abandoned, one vehicle vandalized, one vehicle vin verification, six vehicle lockouts, one vehicle maintenance, two verbal altercations, 69 warnings, two warrant served (criminal complaints/capias, and six welfare checks.
