Joseph “Skud” Judge

Joseph “Skud” Judge, 74, of Coburn, WV passed peacefully on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at his home with his family by his side.

Skud was born May 15, 1951, in New Martinsville, WV son of the late Glen “Mick” and Evelyn M. (Hostutler) Judge, Sr.

He was a retired coal miner for Consol Mining Company. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Glen “Skimmer” Judge; sister, Vivian Coghlan; niece, Eve Coghlan and nephew, Mike Coghlan.

Surviving is his wife of fifty-six years, Nancy (Williams) Judge; two daughters, Billie Jo (James Simpson) Judge of Mannington, WV and Stacey (Louie Freed) Judge of Pine Grove, WV; grandchildren, Jo Danna (Jennifer) Simpson, Levi Simpson, Ty Freed and Trace Freed; two great grandchildren, Anchor and Kaspen; God daughter, Anna (Justin) Sanders and their daughter, Waverly; canine friend, Remmington Steel and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

At Skud’s request private services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial to take place in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Hastings, WV.
