PEO New Martinsville Welcomes Special Guest
P.E.O. Chapter U of New Martinsville held its regular October meeting on Monday, October 13th, at the New Martinsville First Christian Church, where members warmly welcomed special guest Barbara Patel-Alvarez of the West Virginia P.E.O State Executive Board. The evening featured a cozy fall supper of soups and desserts setting the tone for a meaningful meeting focused on sisterhood, and the organization’s shared mission of supporting women’s education.
Barbara Patel-Alvarez, who serves as the State Organizer, met with Chapter U officers before the business meeting in her ongoing effort to support and inspire chapters across the state. During her visit, Barbara shared news, updates, and words of encouragement with local members, reinforcing the bonds of sisterhood that unite P.E.O. women. Her visit provided an invaluable opportunity for members to exchange ideas on increasing membership and raising awareness of the organization’s scholarships and loan projects.
P.E.O. founded in 1869, is an international organization that helps women achieve their educational goals by providing scholarships, grants, awards, and low-interest loans. Through the dedication of its members, P.E.O. has helped tens of thousands of women pursue higher education and personal growth.
The P.E.O. Sisterhood currently includes more than half a million women across the United States and Canada. Each member plays a role in promoting educational opportunities and creating a network of encouragement and purpose.
Chapter U continues its legacy of fostering a community of strong, supportive women who are passionate about lifting others through the power of education.
