Aug. 25-26 Hunter Education Course
Young Ethical Sportsmen will offer a Hunter Education Certification Course on Aug. 25, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Aug. 26, 1-5 p.m. at Alma Fire Hall. Participants must be pre-registered. Those born on or after January 1, 1975 must complete and pass a Hunter Safety Education Class, in order to be eligible to obtain a West Virginia Hunting and Trapping License. Individuals must be at least ten (10) years of age to be certified. All materials are provided to test. Topics to be covered may include: Firearm Safety in the Home, Safe Firearm Handling and Firearms Actions, Bowhunting, Tree-stand Safety, Black powder and Muzzle-loading, Cleaning of Firearms, Wildlife Identification, Range Safety, Ethics, Trapping, First-Aid and Survival, WVDNR Hunting/Trapping Regulations and other topics.
