The St. Marys summer basketball league is now accepting registrations from boys and girls who are going to enter grades six through eight. This co-ed league starts at the beginning of June and finishes at the end of July.

Last season, the league had 58 players from all over the tri-county. Baseball players are welcome, too, with games being played during the week, weather permitting.

The entry fee is $35 to reserve a spot on a team. Deadline to register is May 13. Any entrants after the deadline will be $40. Only 60 participants will be permitted in the league on a first come basis.

Josh Ischy knocked in a hole-in-one at Riverside Golf Course in Sardis April 11 on the par three 147-yard hole four with his trusty seven iron.

Witnessing his feat was his brother John Ischy.

North American Youth Sports is hosting a youth basketball tournament at Parkersburg South High School and surrounding sites April 9-11. The cost is $105 for two games minimum.
