NM Junior Bowling Association Announces Summer Schedule

The New Martinsville Junior Bowling Association will hold an organizational meeting Tuesday, June 8 at 10 a.m. at Bruce Lanes. The league will have three age divisions: Bumpers, 4-8; Preps, 9-12; and Juniors, 13-18.

The league is sanctioned by the United States Bowling Congress Youth Division and is sponsored by McDonald’s. For more information call, Keith Craycraft at Bruce Lanes at 304-455-1551.

North/South All-Star Classic Have Local Ties

Magnolia High School seniors Jason Utt and Tyler Hanna will join Cullen Grover, a senior at Tyler Consolidated, in playing in the North-South All-Star Football Classic June 20 at Charleston’s Laidley Field.

OVAC Softball All-Star Classic Detailed

Corinne Murdock, senior first baseman for the Magnolia Lady Eagle Softball Team and Vicki Yurisko, senior catcher for the Paden City Lady Wildcats, have been selected to play in the OVAC All-Star game on June 3 at the I-470 Ball Fields in Wheeling, beginning at 7 p.m.

Hole In One

New Martinsville resident Frank Kendell sank a hole-in-one on May 18 on Riverside Golf Course’s 146-yard par three hole #6. Witnessing the feat was Lee Hornbeck and Don Hanna.

Softball Tournaments In Parkersburg

The Parkersburg Dugout 2009 summer softball leagues are now being formed. Registration of $315 must be paid by May 25 and includes team sanctions for any USSSA events.

Sign-ups also are now underway for the first Annual Dugout Triple Threat Softball Tournament. The event will be held June 30 and June 31, if needed, at Parkersburg. Three game guarantee, hit your own USSSA

Classic M balls. Entry fee is $130 and deadline is June 27.

The Dugout will host the Eye of the Tiger Xtreme 5 Softball Tournament on Saturday, June 6 and June 7, if necessary. Entry fee is $140. Tournament is open to USSSA men’s slowpitch teams. Entry deadline is June 3 for a five-game guarantee and hit your own USSSA Classic M softballs.
