On Thursday May 28th in Strasburg Ohio, the Pilot’s baseball team of River High School, traveled north coming off a productive final month of their regular season. That evening they faced the strong Tigers of Strasburg-Franklin in a game whose winner would move on to the next stage of the Ohio Division VII playoffs.

The defeat last week of Malvern by a 6-2 game win; the Pilots were riding a wave of victories. Strasburg on the other hand had also finished the season with five wins in their last six outings. Their offensive plays this season has given them a strong dominance when in the batter’s box.

River came out looking to repeat last week’s win, but strong pitching by the Tigers’ Drew Lancaster, gave the Pilots only two hits in the game. In the regular season the Pilots didn’t play the Tigers. Their last meeting was in May of 2025 in the playoffs, when the Tigers also defeated the Pilots.

Final score for the game, Strasburg 7 and River 0. The River Pilots finished the 2026 season with a record of 15 wins and 9 losses.
