The River Pilots, seeded 3rd in the Division, beat visiting Malvern 6-1 on Tuesday evening in Hannibal to secure another game on Thursday against No. 1 seed Strasburg, who eliminated Shadyside 4-2 on Thursday.

The Pilots got a big game from Maverick Marty who went six innings on the mound for the win, striking out five, walking six, and giving up three hits.

He helped his own cause with two hits, while knocking in two runs.

Cooper Roberts added a pair of singles and two RBIs, while Kaden Hunt singled and knocked in a run for River.

The win moved the Pilots to 15-8 heading into Thursday’s contest with the Strasburg Tigers.
