WTTL Holds Second Track Meet
The Wetzel/Tyler Track League held its second meet of the season on Tuesday April 7, at Tyler Consolidated High School with five schools participating.
In the 100 meter dash in the men’s division Holden Dietrich of River high school finished in 2nd place with a time of 12.04. Tyler Consolidated’s Maddox Corley came in 3rd with a time of 12.15, while River’s Aiden Milhoan was 4th with a time of 12.26.
In the 200 meter dash River’s Holden Dietrich won the event with a time of 24.26. River’s Aiden Milhoan was 4th with a 25.31, and teammate Tyler Winkler was 5th with a time of 25.59.
Tyler Consolidated’s Kayden Utt was 3rd in the 400 meter dash in a time of 57.29, followed by teammate Jacob Henderson with a 57.69. River’s Andrew Crow was 6th with a time of 58.81.
Amos Kimble was the winner in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:02.09. The Knights Jacob Goddard was 5th in a time of 2:49.52.
Tyler’s Travis Moore came in first in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:40.50. Moore also won the 3200 with a time of 10:37.63, with teammate Brody Nice getting 2nd with a time of 10:39.79.
River won the 4×100 meter relay in a time of 48.24 from a team of Dietrich, Braden Johnson, Milhoan, and Winkler. Tyler was 2nd in a time of 51.17 from a team of Henderson, Isaiah Campbell, Martel King, and Gideon Winfrey.
The Silver Knights won the 4×200 meter relay in a time of 1:41.90 with a team of Henderson, Corley, Rogan Post, and Winfrey. River was 2nd in a time of 1:54.30 from a team of Ayson McBride, Tiernan Kocher, Brody Mozena, and Nate Haslam.
Tyler finished 2nd in the 4×400 meter relay with a time of 4:00.95 from a team of Henderson, Kimble, Coby Criss, and Utt. The Knights won the 4×800 meter relay in a time of 9:53.09 from a team of Moore, Utt, Criss, and Nice.
The Silver Knights took the first three spots in the shot put, with Israel Winfrey tossing 38-2.5, Garrett Bordenkircher tossing 37-9, and Wyatt Keller throwing 37-6. Michael Schultheis got off a heave 36-4 for 5th place. Tyler’s Logan Criss threw 35-6 good for 6th place.
In the Discus the Silver Knights Winfrey picked up another win with a throw of 109-11. River’s Schultheis was 4th with a throw of 93-2.5. Tyler’s Bordenkircher was 5th with a throw of 88-8. The Silver Knights Gideon Winfrey won the long jump with a leap of 20-10. River took 3rd and 4th place with Miloah leaping 17-11 and Dietrich jumping 17-10. Tyler’s Martel King was 6th with a jump of 16-9.5.
In the Women’s division River’s Ashley Miller won the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.45. Tyler’s Kathryn Grimm finished 2nd with a time of 13.48. River picked up the next three spots with Kara Miller at 14.01, Kynslee Heightland at 14.24, and Maddie Moore at 14.52. Tyler’s Tara Weekley finished 6th with a 14.68.Jaisa Gorrell of Tyler was 7th in a time of 15.03.
In the 200 meter dash Tyler’s Andi Fiber won the race with a time of 27.47. River’s Ashley Miller was 2nd with a time of 27.58. The Silver Knights Grimm was 3rd with a time of 28.29. River’s Kara Miller was 4th in a time of 29.66. Maddie Moore and Heightland were 6th and 7th for River at 30.92 and 31.09.
The Silver Knights’ Andi Fiber also won the 400 meter dash in a time of 1:05.03, teammate Jayden Anderson was 6th with a time of 1:19.76.
In the 800 meter run Lily Haught of Tyler Consolidated was 3rd with a time of 2:57.80. Teammate Mya Fetty was 6th in a time of 3:08.41., followed by the Knights Mackenzie Slee with a 7th place time of 3:17.71. The Knights Sophie Rich was 4th in the 1600 meter run with a time of 8:30.14.
River’s Brooke Huffman won the 100 meter high hurdles with a 1st place finish of 17.09.Tyler’s Addison Blosser was 2nd with a time of 17.09 and the Knights Imary Snider was 3rd in a time of 19.64.
River’s Huffman also won the 300 meter low hurdles in a time of 59.93. The Kn flights Imary Snider was 2nd with a time of 1:00.10, and teammate Zoey Smith was 3rd in a time of 1:00.64.
River girls won the 4×100 meter relay in a time of 52.17 with a team of Ashley Miller, Kara Miller, Brayleigh Trifonoff, and Carleigh Trifonoff. Tyler took 2nd place with a time of 53.33 from a team of Octavia Studenic, Andi Fiber, Addison Boller, and Kathryn Grimm. The Knights also took 3rd with a team of Sadie Smith , Maddie Householder, Anna Sapozhnyk, and Kaisa Gorrell, with a time of 1:02.15
The Silver Knights won the 4×200 meter relay in a time of 1:57.97 from a team of Eliana Winfrey, Ralynn Heintzman, Katie Householder, and Ayo Buerger. River took 2nd place with a time of 2:04.90 from a team of Heightman, Maddie Moore, Hannah Smith, and Riley Sherwood.
The Knights also won the 4×400 meter relay with a time of 4:36.01 from a team of Winfrey, Heintzman, Buerger, and Fiber. They also took 3rd place in a time of 5:31.78 from a team of Fetty, Amber Ebert, Smith, and Haught. The Silver Knight girls won the 4×800 meter relay as well in a time of 13:46.83 from a team of Fetty, Ebert, Smith, and Slee.
Tyler won the 4×102.5 meter shuttle hurdle relay in a time of 1:20.08 from a team of Householder, Snider, Studenic, and Blosser.
The Knights Buerger won the shot put with a heave of 36-1.5. Zoe Fisher was 3rd for the Knights with a toss of 28-4.5, while Winfrey was 4th with a 27-0. River’s Sydney Gust came in 5th with a toss of 26-1, and Tyler’s Chole Dutton was 7th with a toss of 23-1.
The Silver Knights Zoe Fisher won the discus with a throw of 101.3. River’s Sydney Gust was 4th at 65-4 followed by teammate Abbi McCall with a throw of 60-9 good for 6th. Tyler’s Dutton was 7th with a 60-0 and Winfrey was 8th with a 58-11.
The Silver Knights took the first three spots in the high jump with Ayo Buerger jumping 5-2, Kathryn Grimm 4-8, and Katie Householder at 4-6. River’s Ashley Miller was 4th with a jump of 4-6, and Tyler’s Jayden Anderson was 6th with a 4-4.
The Silver Knights Ralynn Heintzman won the pole vault with a vault of 9-0. Kara Miller of River was 2nd with a 8-0. Tyler’s Jayden Andrson was 3rd with a 5-0 and Bridget Al-Janby was 4th at 4-6.
The River Lady Pilots Carleigh Trifonoff won the long jump with a leap of 15-9.5. Tyler’s Addison Blosser was 2nd with a leap of 15-7.5.
The Knights Anna Sapozhnyk was 3rd with a 13-10.5. River’s Riley Sherwood was 4th with a 13-5, and Tyler’s Tiauna Mathis was 5th with a 13-5.
