Sydney Knight at bat against Monroe Central

The Magnolia Blue Eagles could not keep up with the Monroe Central Seminoles and fell 13-2 on Tuesday evening March 31st at Hydro Field, in New Martinsville. The Eagles fell to (3-5) on the season, while the Seminoles improved to (5-1).

The Seminoles got on the board in the top of the first inning with three runs to take an early lead. The Seminoles added two runs in the second when Kennadi Jorris singled down the left field line bringing home two runners making the score 5-0.

Monroe Central added another run in the third when Kenadie Loch doubled down the left field line, making the score 6-0.

Brylee McFredrick earned the win for the Seminoles. The right-handed pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out two and walking three. Kamryn Winland earned the save for the Seminoles.

Aerie Varner took the loss for the Blue Eagles. She went five innings, giving up 13 runs (six earned) on 12 hits, striking out three and walking four.

Sydney Knight led Magnolia with their only hit of the game knocking in two runs. Jessa Anderson stole two bases for Magnolia.

Monroe Central collected 12 hits in the game. McFredrick drove in five runs to lead the visitors. She went 3-for-4 on the day. Jadyn Miller and Maclarin Craft each collected three hits for the Seminoles. Miller stole two bases. Monroe Central ended with stolen bases for the game.

The Seminoles turned one double play in the game.

Magnolia had one hit by Knight with 2 RBI, five walks, and seven batters struck out.
