Blue Eagles Run at Williamstown Ryan Jobes Track and Field Invitational
The Ryan Jobes Track and Field Invitational was held on Saturday, March 28, in Williamstown with six teams participating and 123 athletes from the schools.
Magnolia sent a boys and girls team to the meet with Annalise Goddard picking up points placing 5th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:56.06. In the 300 meter low hurdles Kaenn Hunt finished in the point scoring in 5th place with a time of 1:19.17. Aubrey Warder grabbed points in the Discus throw with a throw of 88-11 good for 5th place. Leah Hartline finished 3rd in the High Jump clearing the bar at 4-08.00 good for points. Kaenn Hunt added more points with a 3rd place finish in the long jump with a nice leap of 12-11.00.
In the Boys division the Blue Eagles got points in the 3200 meter run as senior Riley Dennis finished 5th in the tough field of runners with a time of 10:38.40. Magnolia’s 4×800 relay team of Parker Werkau, Cameron King, Manowah Vaughn, and Riley Dennis finished 5th in the event with a time of 9:33.29 to add points.
In the Shot Put the Blue picked up more points as Anthony Lancaster placed 4th with a heave of 42-05.00.
Teammate Hunter Cooley also finished in the scoring with a 6th place toss of 40-01.00. Lancaster ended in 7th place in the discus throw with a throw of 112-05.
Devon Home placed 7th in the high jump with a 5-00.00 and Ashton Skelley was 7th in the long jump with a leap of 16-03.00.
Taking part in the meet was Williamstown, Ripley, University, St. Marys, Wood County Christian, and Magnolia.
