Valley Wins Home Tri-Match

The Lumberjills improved their record to 4-3 on Tuesday night, September 14, in Pine Grove as they defeated Clay County 25-13, 25-17, and South Harrison 19-25, 25-18, and 25-18.

In the match against South Harrison the home team Lumberjills took no pity on the visitors on their way winning the two straight sets after losing the first set. They got the win behind the power play of Lila Palmer who served up 17 points including nine aces that hit the floor untouched. Palmer also added three kills, 12 sets, one assist and five digs.

Also filling the stat book for Valley was Savannah Derico who had seven service points including five aces, 50 sets, four assists and four digs.

Addison Brown had a good match with 10 points including three aces, three kills at the net, 22 sets, one assist, and four digs. Kasey Barker added five points and two aces, one dig. Reagan Dallison served up two points, one kill and three digs. Zoe Irvin pitched in with seven digs, while Hannah Bassett got two kills, and Madyson Derby swatted one kill.

The Lumberjills were paced by Savannah Derico in the match against Clay County as she served up eight points including two aces. She also added 24 sets and four assists as the home team won the match in straight sets.

Addison Brown came through with seven service points, two kills, one block and one dig. Lila Palmer offered four points with three aces, four kills, one block and three digs.

Reagan Dallison served up three points, had three kills and three digs. Zoe Irvin came through with four service points, Madyson Derby gotone dig. Hannah Bassett had one kill and an assist and Tessa Dulaney also had a kill, and an assist.

Valley Defeats Trinity in Straight Sets

The Lumberjills played host to Trinity on Monday, September 13, in girls volleyball and picked up a win by beating the visitors in three straight sets, 25-10, 25-11, and 25-17.

The hometown team got off to a good start in set one to set the stage for three straight wins as they built an early lead and never looked back. Coach Gabby Coopers club was led by Savannah Derico who served up 25 points in the match including a whopping 11 aces. She was also credited with 30 sets and 13 assists plus two digs to fill the stat sheet.

Lila Palmer was also on target as she controlled the net with six kills, she also had nine digs, and eight points including three aces. Addison Brown came through with eight points including four aces and five kills. Reagan Dallison hit the floor for a game high 12 digs, had two sets and an assist, plus two kills. She also had four service points and two aces.

Zoe Irvin got seven digs, and three service points including an ace. Kasey Barker came throught for the home team with two points including an ace, one kill, and two digs. Hannah Bassett ended with a kill and a dig, while Madison Derby slammed down three kills.

With the win the Lumberjills moved to 2-2 on the young season with seveal more matches scheduled for September, including tomorrows matchup at home vs Clay Battelle.
