Region 1 Section 1 Track Meet Sends Athletes To Charleston

Athletes from Tyler Consolidated, Magnolia, Paden City earned trips to Charleston at the Regional track meet held Wednesday June 2, at St. Marys high school.

In the 100 meter dash Magnolia’s Jason Beisel got first place with a time of 11.38, edging out Paden City sophonore Zane Yeater who took second with a time of 11.84. Both runners will compete in the event at Charleston tomorrow. Beisel also earned his way to the state meet in the 200 meter dash winning in a time of 22.82. Silver Knight Jackson Kibbey came in fourth with a time of 24.28 earning him an at large trip south to the state meet.

Beisel became a triple winner as he also took first in the 400 meter dash with a winning time of 50.52. Teammate Gavin Postlethwait was second across the line with a 52.19 followed by Tyler’s Austin Timmons who came in thrid with a 52.77 sending both to the state meet. The Blue Eagles Gavin Herrick earned his way south with an at large fourth place finish in 53.28. The Silver Knights Sage Landis got sixth and an at large trip to state with a time of 55.45. Herrick took second place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:07.21 to earn a bid in tomorrows state meet. Magnolia’s Brady Renner will be competing in the state meet in the 1600 meter run as he finished third on Wednesday in a time of 4:53.04.

Paden City’s Shane Anderson will be competing in the 100 meter hurdles at the state meet as he got an at large bid with a fifth place finish in a time of 17.47. In the 300 meter hurdles Tyler Consolidated’s Austin Timmons earned a trip to state with a third place finish in a time of 43.00. Paden City’s Jasup Spragg came in sixth with a time of 47.09 good for an at large trip to state .

Tyler Consolidated’s 4×100 meter relay team of Sean Winfreym Trey Landis, Sage Landis and Jackson Kibbey earned an at large thrip to compete in the event with a fourth place finish time of 47.18. The Silver Knights 4×200 meter relay team of Timmons, T. Landis, Winfrey, and Kibbey took first place with a time of 1:36.29 to earn a top spot at the state meet tomorrow. Magnolia also will compete in the event as their team of Jason Beisel, Damon Shimp, Logan Beegle, and Allen Collins took fourth in a time of 1:37.34 godd for an at large spot in the state meet.

The 4×400 meter relay was won by Magnolia in a time of 3:40.70 with a team of Gavin Postlethwait, Brady Renner, Sam Botti, and Gavin Herrick. They will compete int the event tomorrow at Charleston. Tyler Consolidated will also run in the event tomorrow as they finished third in regionals with a time of 3:46.60 with a team of Winfrey, T. Landis, S. Landis, and Timmons. Magnolia will also send a 4×800 meter relay team to state made up of Sam Zombotti, Trevor Williamson, Lucas Zombotti, and Brady Renner. The team finished third in a time of 9:04.05.

Magnolia finished second in the 4×110 meter shuttle hurdles with a team of Chase Glover, Brady Renner, Marcus Barnes, and Logan Beegle in a time of 1:05.31 to earn their way to the state meet in Charleston tomorrow. Paden City earned their way in the same event with a third place finish time of 1:05.62 with a team of Jasup Spragg, Zane Yeater, Logan Smith, and Shane Anderson.

Tyler Consolidated got a first place finish in the high jump from Hayden Brown who cleared the bar at 6-02.00 to beat out Magnolia’s Gavin Postlethwait who cleared 6-00.00 for second place. Both will compete tomorrow at Charleston. Postlethwait and Austin Beverlin of Magnolia will both compete in the long jump at state after winning at large bids with fourth and fifth place leaps at regionals. Tyler’s Jason Holmes earned his way with a fourth place finish in the shot put with a toss of 39-07-50 good for an at large bid.

In the Girls Regionals Magnolia, Tyler Consolidated, and Paden City will all be represented tomorrow at state as the Silver Knights got second in the 100 meter dash from Jocelyn Foltz in a time of 13.27 amd Magnolia picked up third by Jaci Rohde in a time of 13.31.

Foltz also qualified in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.04 good for fouth and an at large spot. Paden City’s Hallie McDonald came in fourth in the 100 meter hurdles in a time of 17.98 and a spot in the state meet with an at large bid.

Tyler Consolidated came in second in the 4×100 meter relay with a team of Makayla Haught, Caitlyn Northvraft, Victoria Yost, and Jocelyn Fotz, with a time of 53.65 to earn a spot in the state meet. Paden City qualified for the trip to Charleston in the event coming in third with a team of Maggi Still, Mallory Yeater, Hallie McDonald, and Madylen Still with a time of 53.66. Magnolia earned an at large bid in the event with a fourth place finish in a time of 54.40 with a team of Kalleigh Beisel, Julia Lilze, Bre Herrick, and Jaci Rohde.

Magnolia took third place in the 4×200 meter relay for a spot at state with a team of Lilze, Kaylee Cline, Herrick, and Rohde, in a time of 1:54.68. Paden City with a fourth place finish earned an at large spot with a team of McDonald, Still, Still, and Yeater in a time of 1:55.80. Tyler Consolidated also earned a at large spot coming in fifth with a team of Raylynn Roberts, Makenzie Hakes, Yostm and Trinity Kanz, in a time of 2:03.09.

The 4×400 meter relay teams from Magnolia and Paden City both earned at large spots in the state meet. Magnolia finished fifth in a time of 4:35.84 with a team of Shynecka, Mikalyn Renner, Cline and Herrick. Paden City took sixth ina time of 4:52.14 with a team of Yeater, McDonald, Still, and Brandis Dalrymple. Magnolia also qualified in the 4×800 meter relay with a fifth place finish in a time of 12:42.06 from a team of Renner, Myranda Moore, Emma Spitzer, and Abby Clegg.

The Blue Eagle girls 4×102.5 meter shuttle hurdle team of Leneica Grimm, Shaela Holliday, Emma Spitzer, and Reese Hale earned their ticket to the state meet with a second place finish in the event with a time of 1:13.30.

In the long jump Magnolia will send Jaci Rohde to state as she finished third with a leap of 16-01.75. Mallory Yeater of Paden City went 16-01.50 for fouth and a at large spot in state. Jocelyn Foltz of Tyler Consolidated also qualified with a leap of 15-09-50 good for fifth and a at large spot.

Magnolia’s Mady Winters won the shot put with a toss of 40-06.00 to head to Charleston, while Paden City’s Hope Weber was second with a toss of 32-02.50 and a trip to the state meet tomorrow. Both girls also qualified in the discus throw with Winters getting first with a 112-08 and Weber right behind with a 112-07.

Tyler’s Sydney Deaton earned her way to Charleston with an at large bid in the discus throwing for 87-05.
