Paden City wins 10-4 over Valley
Visiting Valley scored a run in the top of the first inning at Paden City on Tuesday, May 25, but the Wildcats answered back with a run in the bottom of the inning to tie the game 1-1.
The Cats held the Lumberjacks scoreless in the second, then plated five runs in the bottom of the inning to gain a 6-1 lead they would not relinquish.
The Wildcats added two more in the fourth and fifth while Valley got on the board in the fifth with two runs and one more in the top of the seventh.
Hunter Fletcher picked up the win for the Cats going three innings, striking out five and walking one.
Aston Little came on in relief in the fourth get the save and struck out four and walked four. Alec Chaplin handled the catching chores doing a nice job.
Will McGinnis had a hot bat for the Wildcats with two singles driving in two runs. Brandon Hizer doubled for a hit and Scott Lavoie doubled and drove in a run.
Valley got two singles and two RBI from Logan Bassett and two singles from Patrick Higginbotham.
Eli Stackpole pitched the entire game for the Lumberjacks and took the loss, while striking out 10 batters and walking just three. Errors cost the Lumberjacks big time as they recorded seven while the Cats committed only three.
Paden City now stands at 4-9 on the season with sectionals approaching.
