Paden City Wins Season Opener
Paden City Wildcats Baseball opened their season at home on April 28 by beating Beallsville by the final score of 19 to 16.
Paden City led 13-7 going into the sixth inning.
Beallsville scored nine runs in the top of the sixth to make the score 16-13 Beallsville. The Cats answered in the bottom of the sixth scoring six runs to take take the win 19-16.
Leading the way for the Wildcats was Hunter Fulks with a double, single and seven RBI, followed by Scott Lavoie with a single and three RBI, Joey Baker two singles and two RBI, Brandon Hizer single two RBI, Dustin Southerly single two RBI and Will McGinnis single and one RBI. Quoting Coach Brent Croasmun, “we played well for the first game in the first four innings then struggled defensively in the fifth and sixth.
The kids showed some character coming back to score six runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Hunter Fulks showed some poise for a sophomore by coming in to pitch two scoreless innings.
Next up for the Wildcats are away games at River and St. Mary’s.
