Monroe Central Claims Win over Blue Eagles

Magnolia fell to Monroe Central on Wednesday night April 28, in New Martinsville as the visitors used a home run by Regan Hamilton and four hits by Ryleigh Windland to lead the Seminoles to victory. The Blue Eagles received three singles from Haiden Bland and two hits each from Shy White and Isabella Conner, but it wasn’t enough and the home team suffered their second loss in two nights. They travel to Woodsfield on Saturday for a chance to revenge the loss.

Magnolia Shutout in Five Innings by Tyler Consolidated

Tyler Consolidated’s new sports complex was all lit up on Tuesday night April 27, as the Silver Knights hosted Magnolia in girls softball and the Wetzel/Tyler track league had five schools represented at the new track and field arena. On the softball field the Silver Knights showed their stuff as they downed the Blue Eagles in five innings 8-0 behind solid play in the field and clutch hitting from Lauren Templeton and Brianna Templeton.

The Knights got on the board quickly with three runs in the bottom of the first which proved to be all they would need on their way to the win. Braden Wall got the win for the Knights striking out four and walking three. L.Templeton had a double and a single with three RBI. Briann Templeton also hit a single and a double and Audrey Dennis smacked a double and had two RBI.

The Blue Eagles got all of their hits from Lipscomb who went 2-4 and Dehaven who was 2-4 including a double.

Tyler had 15 hits in the contest and only one error. The Blue Eagles had four hits and two errors Karisa Postlethwait took the loss for Magnolia recording eight strikeouts and only one walk.
