Paden City Boys Nipped at Doddridge
The Paden City Wildcats traveled to Doddridge County Thursday evening April 15, 2021 minus sophomore sharpshooter Joel Moore sidelined with an injury and lost a close battle to the Bulldogs 49-46.
Ty Cain had a big game keeping the Cats in the contest throughout taking game high scoring honors with 28 points and picking up a double-double by collecting 12 rebounds. He was backed by Brandon Hizer with seven markers and eight boards, Carson Palmer and Mickey Guerra added four points apiece, and Shane Anderson chipped in with three to round out the Wildcats scoring.
Doddridge had two players in double figures, Connor Cunningham with 13 markers, while Nathan Hart added 11 for the host and victorious Bulldogs.
Coach David Riggle’s Cats fall to 7-7 on the season heading into Sectional play.
Wildcats Fall to TCHS
Tyler Consolidated honored seven seniors basketball players and five senior cheerleaders on Senior Night at home against Paden City on April 13 and came away with a 77-34 victory. Tyler placed four players in double figures led by Senior Trey Landis with 20 points. Also scoring in double figures were Justin Bowman with 12, Haygen Baker with 15, and Caleb Strobe ending with 12 points. After a close first quarter the Silver Knights pulled away in the second half to take the win. Carson Palmer led the Wildcats with nine points. Tyler next plays at Wood County Christian on April 16th to close out the regular season. Paden City closes out the regular season at Doddridge on April 15th.
