Paden City Wildcats Fall to Number 10 Cameron
Despite a game high 28 points from Paden City sophomore guard Joel Moore, the visiting Cameron Dragons ranked 10th in the state in Class A got a 27 point win 65-38 on Thursday night.
Moore was on his game for the Cats who was playing without three regulars.
He knocked in 11 of 21 from the floor, including two 3-pointers, and hit on 4-6 from the free throw line while also getting six steals, three rebounds and one assist.
Shane Anderson added four points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals, and Ty Cain added four points and six rebounds.
Branden Hizer grabbed seven rebounds, while scoring two points. Tobin McEldowney pitched in with three rebounds, two assists amd two steals.
For the Dragons, Trevor Beresford hit for 16 markers, while Cole Wicterman added 10 and Logan Burgett knocked down nine.
Madonna takes down Wildcats
Visiting Paden City fell behind 35-23 on March 30, at Weirton Madonna, and never recovered as the Blue Dons went on to get the win 66-51 over the 6-4 Wildcats.
Point guard Joel Moore led the Cats in the contest as he knocked down eight field goals, including four from beyond the arc on his way to a game high 23 points.
He also hit 3-4 from the free throw line, collared four rebounds and added four steals. Senior Ty Cain finished with 15 points, including two 3’s and also went 3-4 from the line.
Cain grabbed five rebounds, while getting five steals and two assists.
Rounding out the Cats scoring was Brandon Hizer with four markers and five boards. Shane Anderson pitched in six points and grabbed two rebounds.
Joey Baker hit one of two free throws and got four rebounds and three assists.
Madonna had four players reach double figures with Evan Bono leading the way with 19 on nine field goals.
