Hornets Top Paden City
Hundred High School ended Paden City Girls basketball season on Saturday, April 10, with a 48-38 victory in Hundred.
For the Hornets Brianna Rinehart and Rachel Snedden led the way with 18 and 11 points respectively.
The Wildcats were led by sophomore guard McKenzie Thomas who knocked in a game high 19 points.
Hundred Girls get Win over Wood County Christian
The Hornets took their show on the road Monday night, April 5, as they traveled to Williamstown to battle the Wood County Christian Wildcats.
The visitors went up by one 11-10 after the first quarter and never trailed as they outscored the home team in every period to get the 12 point 38-26 win.
There was not a double figure scorer in the contest from either team, but the Hornets had a balanced attack led by Brianna Rinehart with eight points, while Addie Tuttle and Roxie Huggins had seven points each. Rachel Snedden scored six.
Kayley Davis got five points and Mahalah Britton canned four points. Kayla Matthews added a basket for two points to round out the scoring.
For Wood County K. Michael hit for eight, while Dunn and S. Michael each added six.
The Hornets hit 12 field goals and made 13-30 from the free throw line, while the Wildcats hit 11 field goals but only made 2-5 from the line.
Hornets sting Hawks
The Lady Hornets hosted the South Harrison Hawks Tuesday evening April 6, 2021 at the Hornet’s Nest and picked up a win with a 42-33 victory.
The Hornet Lady’s avenged a loss last week at the hands of the Hawks 53-48.
Coach Jeremy Kelch’s squad were led by Brianna Rinehart with game high scoring honors netting 17 points, Roxie Huggins added 12, Rachel Snedden and Mahalah Britton each chipped in five for the victorious Hornets.
South Harrison was led in scoring by Sadie Cooney with 14 points and Reagan Rudder netted seven markers.
Hundred improves to 7-8 on the season.
