Harman Tops Hundred In WVHIT Tournament

Hundred went on the road on Saturday for a visit to Harman and a chance to move up in the West Virginia Hometown Invitational Tournament. Harman, however, gave the visitors a tough time coming away with a 75-48 win.

Illias Fox was the big gun for the Hornets as he had 18 points, including 5 from beyond the arc. He also had five rebounds. For the Hornets Christian Fluharty also hit double figures in scoring with 10 points, while teammate Bobby Hostutler hit for nine markers while pulling down a game high 13 rebounds.

Wood County Christian tops Hundred

The home team Jumping out to a 35-18 first half lead was to much for Hundred to overcome at Wood County Christian in Williamstown on Monday night, April 5.

However, the visiting Hornets came alive in the second half outscoring the home team by four but it was to little too late.

Bobby Hustutler had his usual good game hitting for a double- double 13 points and 13 rebounds. Everett Johnson led the team in scorin g with 14 points.

Other scorers for the Hornets included Fox with nine, Ray, and Fluharty each hit for four points, while J. Morris, D. Morris, and Poe all hit a basket for two points.

Leading the home team was Cline with 24 points including two 3-pointers, while Lanham added 20 with a pair of long balls.

Cats to much

for Hornets

The Wildcats traveled out to Hundred Tuesday evening April 6, 2021 to battle the Hornets and came away with an 83-35 victory.

The Cats were still shorthanded but had enough firepower to cruise to the win.

Paden City jumped out to a 22-7 lead after one quarter then pushed it to 44-22 at the halftime back and cruised on to the victory to improve to 7-5 on the season.

Sophomore sharpshooter Joel Moore took game high scoring honors to lead Coach Dave Riggle’s squad with 35 points and 10 assists, Ty Cain added 24 markers, Shane Anderson also double-double with 14 points and 10 boards while Mickey Guerra chipped in eight points and Brandon Hizer notched six steals and two points to round out the scoring for the visitors.

Hundred was paced by Bobby Hostettler’s 14 points. Everett Johnson added 11 for the hosts.
