Valley Girls Basketball Looking Forward To Season
The Valley Girls Basketball team has been working hard during the time allowed this summer and is looking forward to a big year with many returning players. Coach Kasey Sapp is hoping to have a season this year with a lot of experience and leadership on this year’s squad. But with the pandemic still going on, it is still unknown if the WVSSAC will allow fall sports. If the season does happen the Lumberjill’s should have a successful season and hopefully enjoy a spot in the post season.
The Valley girls roster consists of two seniors, Rachel Bates and McKinlee Yoho who will be the leaders. Juniors, Kim Soles, Shyanne Moore, Reagan Dallison, and Madyson Barnette. The sophomores are Addison Brown and Zoe Irvin. Rounding out the roster are three freshman, Winter Higgins, Evi Booher, and Braylee Rine.
Coach Sapp said, “with so much uncertainty, 100% of our focus is on the now and the things we are able to control. The girls are coming to work with maximum effort daily. They are all great teammates to each other and are genuinely excited to see each other succeed. This bond is allowing us to push harder each day, and I am excited to watch them continue to grow as a group. Several of our upperclassmen have played a large role on the team for the past two years and I feel this leadership and experience will help us accomplish our goals. The girls are motivated and looking forward to beginning the season”.
Hopefully, the season will happen and the Valley Girls with all the talent will be fun to watch. I watched this team some last year and they have many weapons and play well together. Good luck to Coach Sapp and the Valley girls this upcoming season.
