Silver Knights Eliminate Wildcats, 43-33
The Silver Knights and Wildcats battled toe a 7-7 tie after one quarter as McKenzie Thomas led the Cats with six points in the period with a three ball and 3-4 showing from the free throw line. With the Cats up 7-5 and the quuarter coming to an end Allie Miller hit a jumper to tie the game.
Paden City came out strong in the second frame with Thomas tacking on another three and a layin to finish the half with 11 points. Raven Fulks also added ive points in the second quarter for the Cats, and Skylar Fulks knocked in a 3-pointer. The Cats hit for 15 markers in the frame to the Silver Knights 12 and went into the break up three 22-19.
The Knights came out after halftime and stepped up defensively with a full court press and man to man defense which slowed the Cats attack limiting them to only five points in the third.
The Silver Knights got a big quarter from A. Miller, as she scored 10 of the teams 12 points, to lift them to a 31-27 lead they would never relinquish.
Paden City stayed cold in the fourth quarter as well scoring just six points while the Knights knocked in another 12, to get the win. The Silver Knights outrebounded the Cats 33-19 with Lauren Templeton leading the way with 12, while Regan Smith hauled in nine.
Miller was the game leading scorer with 16.
Templeton had a double-double as she hit for 13 markers to go along with her rebounding. Romana Rice played a nice floor game getting eight rebounds and scoring six points. Caleigh Phillips added four points and four steals while getting three assists. Smith and Summer Miller each hit a basket to round out the scouring. The Knights hit 7-17 free throws and 17 field goals including two 3-pointers.
Paden City was led by Thomas who ended with 15 points, six steals and five rebounds. Skylar and Raven Fulks each added seven for the Cats with Skylar grabbing eight rebounds. Tanley McEldowney and Abbe Stackpole each pitched in with two points. The Wildcats hit 11 field goals including three 3-pointers, but made just 8-22 free throws.
