Multiple Athletes Honored
The Magnolia Blue Eagles Trevor Williamson is heating up at the right time for post season with a couple nice games this past week for Magnolia. Against Hundred he scored 15-points that included a pair of 3-pointers, while finishing off the week hitting for 28 points including 8-three pointers and ending with 21-points and 6-three pointers against Weirton Madonna. All told he scored 64-points, with 16-baskets from beyond the circle.
Jamey West had a nice game against the Hundred Hornets to open Sectional play by scoring 18-points, including 4-baskets from bonus bomb territory.
The Hundred Hornets Rachel Snedden had a nice game herself in a sectional loss to Valley. She led all-scores with 19-points, with 3-bonus bombs.
Meanwhile, The Lumberjills McKinlee Yoho was selected as most the most improved. Yoho scored 13-points, in their win over Hundred, while scoring 17-points in a loss to St Marys.
Anderson and Streets Last weeks Athletes of the Week
The Wetzel Chronicle Athletes of the week for February 19, 2020, were Levi Anderson and Gavin Streets of the Valley Lumberjacks who each scored 25-points to lead Valley to a OVAC Consolation victory over Bridgeport.
The Pilots Brody Lollathin was also solid for the Pilots as he netted 19-points in a win over Beallsville, while the Lady Eagles Audrey Cross scored 10-points in a close loss to Parkersburg South and were chosen most improved players.
