The Hundred Hornets on Senior night, Monday February 17, beat the Morgantown Christian Mustangs by a 53 35 score in front of the home fans at the Hornet’s Nest. Sydney Duckworth, the only senior on the squad was honored before the game. Duckworth made her presence felt early with a nice pass to post player Mahalah Britton, breaking to the basket for a layup and the game’s first points. The Hornets led throughout the contest to pick up their ninth win on the year and improve their record to (9-12).

The Hornets held a 19-7 lead after one frame and went on to take a 26-13 lead to the locker room. Hundred came out after halftime with a big third quarter, outscoring the Christian Mustangs by 19- 8, and pushed lead to 45-21 heading into the final stanza. The Hornets were outscored in the fourth quarter 12-8, but had the game well in hand and finished with the victory.

The Hornets were led by a balanced attack from Kayla Matthews, the top scorer with 12 points, senior Duckworth’s 11 points, Britton 10 points, and Sneddens’ eight points, Davis and Tuttle rounded out the scoring for Hundred with six points each. The Hornets made 21 field goals and 3-pointers, and 5-10 from the charity stripe. The Mustangs were led by Kate Williams, who took game high scoring honors with 19 points, Wolfe and Phillips added four points each, while Gulla and Bland chipped in with three points each. Morgantown Christian was held to eight field goals, two 3-pointers and a perfect 9-9 from the foul line.
