Moore Sparks ’Jills Past Trinity

The Valley Lumberjills raced out to a 15-7 first quarter lead and never looked back in defeating Morgantown Trinity 49-34 in an OVAC Consolation pool game Feb. 3, inside the VHS Gymnasium.

Shyanne Moore paced the ‘Jills with 19-points, while providing 7-rebounds, 3-assists and 2-steals for Valley. McKinlee Yoho followed with 14-points, while Allison Brown, Brittany Kennedy and Kimberly Soles each supplied 4-points. Kennedy also added 8-rebounds, while Soles collected 2-steals.

In addition, Jamie West knocked down a basket from beyond the arch, while Rachel Bates scored a deuce, but filled the stat sheet with 15-rebounds, 3-assists, 2-steals and 2-blocks. Kaeleen Utt finished the Valley scoring with a deuce.

Jaclyn Smith paced the Lady Warriors with 19-points, including three from bonus bomb territory, while teammate Olivia Austin netted 9-points.
