Area Trio Earn Top Honors
This past week we had many people step-up and deliver outstanding performances. Starting with the Pilots freshman Ty Long who scored a season-high 25-points and grabbed 15-rebounds for a double-double in a 2-point loss to Monroe Central.
You can also put in that the ‘Jills sophomore Shyanne Moore scored 19-points, while providing 7-rebounds, 3-assists and 2-steals in a big win over South Harrison.
The Hundred Hornets point guard Aaron Stephens had his first varsity triple-double with 10-points, 10-rebounds and dished out 11-assists in a win over Maple Town.
The Lumberjacks Levi Anderson stepped up from a couple of tough shooting nights by drilling 5-baskets beyond the arch, en-route to a 19-point night in a tough loss to Beallsville is one of our two Most Improved Players of the week.The other is the Blue Eagles Chase Glover who came off the bench to score a varsity high 10-points against Wheeling Central.
Only area athletes from Hundred, Magnolia, Paden City, River and Valley are eligible to win the athlete of the week, and can only do it one time, until they reach playoffs as well as conference tournaments.
We also will try to pick the most improved player from each school, week after week, too.
