Baker, Moore Honored
The Hunded Hornets Martin Baker and the Paden City Wildcats Joel Moore is this weeks Athlete of the Week.
Baker scored a career-high 18-points that included a career-high 4-baskets from beyond the arch, while collecting 8-rebounds, 5-steals and 3-assists in helping Hundred beat Valley, and tallied 6-points in a win over Meadow Bridge.
Paden City freshman Joel Moore has been putting up some big numbers for the Wildcats lately and on Friday he came through with another big game as the Cats went into Double-Overtime on the road against Paw-Paw high school. Moore had a career high 32 points in the game as the Cats fought to the end before losing in the WVHIT contest. In his last four games he has averaged nearly 20 points. His floor game is just as good as he handles the ball most of the time and is a tough defender.
Abe Satterfield of the Valley Lumberjacks is this weeks most improved as he scored 19-points, including two triples in a loss to Beallsville, while recording 8-points in the loss to Hundred.
Only area athletes from Hundred, Magnolia, Paden City, River and Valley are eligible to win the athlete of the week, and can only do it one time, until they reach playoffs as well as conference tournaments.
We also will try to pick the most improved player from each school, week after week, too.
