’Jills Drop Pair to Cougars, Dragons
The Valley Lumberjills took one on the chin, as the Frontier Lady Cougars took a 23-18 first half lead, and held off a Valley comeback with a 44-39 victory Jan. 25 in Cougar territory.
Reagan Dallison was the only double-digit ‘Jills scoring with 11-points and 8-rebounds, while Shyanne Moore added 9-points and 4-steals to pace the Valley offense.
In addition, Rachel Bates stuffed the stat sheet with 8-points, 14-rebounds and 5-assists, while McKinlee Yoho provided 5-points. Jamie West and Addison Brown scored 4-points and 2-points, respectively. Kimberly Soles rolled her ankle early in the first quarter and never returned.
Lumberjills Roasted By Dragons, 42-27
The Cameron Dragons raced out to a 25-5 run and never looked back in roasting the Valley Lumberjills, 42-27 in girls basketball action Jan. 22 inside the Dragons Den.
In the second half, the ‘Jills turned it up a notch out-scoring their hosts 22-17 during the final 2-periods.
Rachel Bates paced the Valley team with 8-points and 11-rebounds, while Shyanne Moore and Reagan Dallison equally-split a dozen markers. Dallison added 5-rebounds, and Moore 2-steals and 3-blocks. Kimbery Soles and Jamie West both scored 3-points, while McKinlee Yoho swished a free throw, and made 3-steals.
The Dragons Lili Neely scored a game-high 17-points, that included 3-triples, while collecting 9-rebounds and 5-steals.
