Lawrence Leads River
Colton Lawrence nailed a 3-pointer with 2.5 seconds left on the clock to lift the Pilots to a one point 45-44 victory over Barnesville on Friday night in Hannibal. River took a 12-9 first quarter lead but the Shamrocks battled back in the second frame to go into the locker room up one 18-17.
The Pilots outscored the visitors by seven 17-10 in the third for a six point lead, but Barnesville once again battled back to gain the lead 44-42 before Lawrence hit the game winner.
Lawrence paced the Pilots with a team high 20 points which included six from beyond the 3-point line.Stone Thompson added 10 to the cause while Long and Lollathin each added six and Longwell pitched in with three.
The Pilots hit on 15 field goals and made good on 9-11 from the free throw line.
Barnesville was paced by Luke Powell with a game high 32 points that included four from beyond the line.
The Shamrocks made 14 field goals and were 11-16 from the free throw line.
