Soles Sparks Hornets

Cody Soles scored a season-high 27-points, while Logan Norris and Martin Baker each had a double-double to lead Hundred to a 80-38 victory over Paden City Jan. 10 inside Paden City’s Bob Burton Gymnasium.

The Hornets raced out to a 17-5 first quarter lead, and walked into the locker room with a 48-12 as Soles, Norris and Baker accounted for 40 of their 48-first half points.

The Hornets continued to pour it on as they out-scored the hosts, 23-8 in the third period. In the fourth period, the Hornets set out Soles, Norris and Eli Geho, and the Wildcats took advantage and out-scored their visitors 18-9 as Jeremy Joy tallied eight of his team-high 15-points, included a trio of 3-pointers, while teammate Joel Moore scored 8 of his 11-points to pace the Wildcats.

In addition, Jason Anderson, Nicholas Clarke and Paxton Pierce each tallied 4-points for all the Paden City points.

Soles scored a season-high 27-points, that included a pair of 3-pointers, while Norris provided a double-double 18-points, 10-rebounds and 6-assists in three quarters of play. Baker, also had a double-double, 13-points, that included a 3-pointer and 11-rebounds.

In addition, Geho netted 8-points, including 2-treys, while Aaron Stephens posted 5-points, that also included a triple. Robert Hostutler had a nice game too, as he scored 4-points, and hauled in a game-high 12-rebounds, while Adam Stephens and William Lemasters each scored 3-points.

Hundred will have visited Cameron Tuesday and after have been on the road for their last 5-games, the Hornets will host their next 5-games starting with East Richland Jan. 17 at 6 p.m, while Paden City will visit South Harrison and Tyler Jan. 11 and 14th, respectively will visit Clay-Battelle Jan. 21 at 6 pm.

Hundred Gets Past Jefferson Morgan, 49-38

Hundred high school improved its record to 6-5 on Friday night in Paden City with a lopsided 80-38 victory over the Wildcats leaving them still looking for their first win of the season. The Wildcats managed just four field goals and 12 points in the first half while the Hornets road the scoring of Cody Soles and Logan Norris to send the visitors in to the locker room up 48-12.

The third period wasn’t much better for the cold shooting Wildcats as they scored just eight points to the Hornets 23. Hundred emptied their bench in the fourth quarter and the Wildcats went on an 18-5 run, but it wasn’t near enough as the Hornets came away with it’s sixth win on the season.

Soles finished the night with a game high 27 points including 5-7 from the free throw line and two 3-pointer. He also had six steals and 11 rebounds. Norris also lit it up with 18 including 6-6 from the line and two long range three’s, while getting six assists and three steals.

Martin Baker also scored in twin figures with 13 points, while Eligah Geho added eight, Aaron Stevens hit for five, Bobby Hostutler had four, Billy Lemasters three, and Adam Stevens two.
