Lady Hornets Secure Third Victory
The Hornets won a hard fought battle on Friday night in East Richland as they downed the home team 40-36 in a battle that saw Hundred take an 11-2 first quarter lead before East Richland fought back a little in each quarter to close the gap to four before time expired.
Senior guard Sydney Duckworth led the way for the Hornets as she canned 14 points including a pair of long 3-pointers to tie for game scoring honors. She was also a ball hawk as she managed six steals on the night and added an assist. Backing Duckworth up in the game was Rachel Snedden a sophomore guard who scored nine points which included a 3-pointer. Junior center Mahalah Britton who scored eight points and grabbed a game high 11 rebounds, while blocking two shots.
Kayley Davis knocked in five points from her guard position and had a pair of steals to go along with a nice floor game.
Also adding to the Hornets scoring total was sophomore guard Addie Tuttle who hit two baskets for four points while adding an assist.
East Richland had a pair of double figure scorers in the game with Hastings leading the way with 14 while Brunner scored 12.
Hundred made 15 field goals and went 7-13 from the free throw line while East Richland had 14 field goals and made 7-15 from the line.
The Hornets picked up their third win on the season and now stand at 3-5 as they prepare for the next game with Jefferson Morgan on the road January 2, and a home contest scheduled with Clay Battelle on Monday January 6.
