Number of Area Thinclads Qualify for State Meet

Tyler Consolidated ran and ran on October 24, the WV Class AA/A, Region 1V Cross Country meet at Grafton on Thursday, October 24 and finished runneup to Ritchie County to earn their trip to the state Cross Country meet at Cabell Midland High School on Saturday.

The Knights were led by junior Spencer Corley.

Corley picked it up a notch to finish in third place in Class A with a time 17:30 while getting 10th place among all Class AA/A schools. Hundred had Martin Baker, come in with a fine time of 19:14.01, while Jacob Kuhn 21:50.00, Cole Miller, Cole 22:13.00, Elijah Geho 25:25.00, and Bobby Hostutler 27:29.00 all score for the Hornets. Magnolia had Gavin Herrick23:05.00, Josh Rice 23:12.00, Herbert Hernandez 25:38.00, Damon Shimp 29:25.00 Jesse Coulter 29:36.00, and Woodson London 31:25.00 finished the race. Paden City had two runner take part with Brandon Hizer getting a 22:41.00 and Christopher Rush a 32:07.

The Silver Knights girls got in on the action on Thursday at Grafton in the WV Class AA/A Cross Country Regionals with a second place finish to head to the State Meet on Saturday. Magnolia’s Karina Patel with a 22:00.01was the first area runner to cross the finish line as she came in at 17th. Hundred had two girls finish the race with Rachel Snedden getting a time of 23:05.00 and Iris Woodward Woodward coming in at 26:55.00.
