Magnolia’s Colby Cecil looks for yardage during a kickof return against Marietta.

The Marietta Tigers scored 26-points in the first quarter and never looked back in handing the Magnolia Blue Eagles a 54-8 loss Oct. 11 on Alumni Field.

Magnolia junior Caden Cisar scored the only touchdown with a 3-yard TD keeper, while tossing the 2-point conversion pass to freshman Brayden Vargo in the fourth quarter. Silas McKeever rushed for 70-yards on 20 carries, while Mikey Hamrick tacked on 43-yards on 10-touches.

Cisar was 4-15 for 102 yards with Gavin Postlewait catching 3-passes for 92-yards, and recorded the teams only quarterback sack of the night, while McKeever hauled in one pass for 10-yards. In addition, Hamrick recorded all 3-tackles for loss of yards, while Cody Leek led the way with 7-tackles, with 4-solos and 1-tackle for loss of yardage.

Dispite the lop-sided score wasn’t nothing like how the game was played as the 0-6 Eagles played inspired ball on both sides of the ball and never gave up. The Eagles next game is at St Marys Friday with kick-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
