Eagles’ Trio Takes Top Honors

Magnolia’s Silas McKeever has been named one of the Athletes of the Week for the Wetzel Chronicle.
Gavin Postlewait has been named one of the Athletes of the Week for the Wetzel Chronicle.
Lenieca Grimm has been named one of the Athletes of the Week for the Wetzel Chronicle.

Three Magnolia players earn Athlete of the week honors in Silas McKeever, Gavin Postlewait and Lenieca Grimm.

Silas McKeever paced the Magnolia ground game with 107-yards rushing, including a sensational 36-yard TD run. He also added a pair of receptions for 39-yards, that also included a high-flying circus catch.

Gavin Postlewait garnered 76-yards on a pair of catches, including a 64-yard touchdown reception as well a high-flying interception.

Lenieca Grimm helped the Lady Eagles win 3-matches last week. In a win over River, she only scored 5-points, but she dished out 23-assists. In a pair of wins over Wheeling Central and Weir, she accounted for 53-assists and 16-service points.

Only high schools from Hundred, Magnolia, Paden City, River and Valley can win the Athlete of the Week, and can only win once, except during a tournament or the playoffs.
