Silas McKeever takes off for a rushing touchdown during a game against Frontier.

Magnolia traveled to undefeated Frontier, Ohio, on Friday night looking to break into the win column but the undefeated 5-0 Cougars had other ideas and sent the visiting Blue Eagles home on the short end of a 47-13 score.

The Blue Eagles started out on the right foot and looked like they would game of it as they got on the scoreboard first with 9:42 to play in the first quarter on a 37 yard run by junior Silas McKeever, the extra point attempt failed and the visitors held a brief 6-0 lead. Frontier answered right back a minute later to tie the game on a six yard run by Joel Lewis. The point after attempt was good and the Cougars had a 7-6 lead they would not relinquish.

Frontier cored 20 points in the second period while holding the Blue Eagles scoreless to go into the locker room up 27-6. The home team put another score on the board in the third to increase the lead to 34-7. Magnolia added seven points in the fourth quarter on a 37 yard pas from Caden Cisar to Gavin Postlethwait, and a good extra point kick from Charlie Powell. It was to little to late however as the Cougars scored twice in the quarter to gain the win.

Magnolia has 113 yards rushing on 37 carries and 58 yards passing on 4-13 completions and a score all by Cisar. Frontier had 280 yards rushing and 75 yards passing on 7-12 completions and a score. The Blue Eagles lost 2-3 fumbles and had four penalties for 25 yards.
