Grimm Leads Big Blue
Lenieca Grimm prepares to set-up #10 Kyndra Pilant or #6 Liza “Bean” Clegg in a recent volleyball match.
The Magnolia Blue Eagles junior-setter Lenieca Grimm capped-off a nice 3-set match against Weirton Madonna scoring 12-points, including 3-aces, while dishing out 44-assists in leading Magnolia to victory Sept. 10 in Weirton.
The Big Blue held-off a pesky Blue Don group, winning 25-20, but with Grimm spreading the wealth around in ways of assists the Eagles didn’t look back, winning easily 25-10 in the second set.
The home team would give Magnolia a tight third set, but the hammering Blue Eagles soared to a 25-21 victory to claim the set and match.
With Grimm dishing out the wealth, it was senior Kyndra Pilant that paced the Lady Eagles with 26-kills, while adding 10-digs, 4-blocks and scoring 3-points. MHS senior Liza Clegg provided 4-points and 6-kills, while freshman Shaela Holiday providing some fire-works of her own, with 8-points and 3-kills.
In addition, senior Zoey Jenkins came up with 5-points and 6-digs, while fellow classmate Kayna Anderson added 5-points, and bumped-up 16-digs. Sophomores Jaci Rhode smacked 5-kills, while Alyssa Kocher netted 3-points. Freshman Makia Litton, belted herself 3-kills.
